“Enjoy the Perfect Jaggery Tea”
In winter, drinking jaggery tea is highly beneficial. You should consider consuming jaggery tea if you’re dealing with a cough, cold, or throat irritation. Here is the recipe for the same, promising you won’t end up with a split mixture but a wonderfully warming tea for your cold days.
This comforting brew is enough for 3 people
Ingredients:
- Water: 1 large cup
- Milk: 1 large cup
- Tea Leaves: 2 tablespoons
- Ginger: 1-inch piece, roughly chopped
- Jaggery: 4 tablespoons
- Green Cardamom: 2 pods
Method:
- To prepare jaggery tea, start heating the milk. On a separate burner, in a saucepan, add a cup of water and bring it to a boil on medium heat.
- After the milk starts boiling, switch off the gas and wait for the water to boil. Once the water starts boiling, add the ginger, green cardamom, and jaggery. Stir it with a spoon and keep it cooking until the jaggery melts completely.
- As soon as the jaggery melts, add the tea leaves, and let the mixture come to a boil on low heat.
- After it boils, add the pre-warmed milk to this mixture and continue boiling the tea on medium heat.
- Once it comes to a boil, switch off the gas. Avoid overcooking the tea after adding milk, as it may cause the tea to curdle.
- As soon as it comes to a boil, switch off the gas. Your jaggery tea is now ready to enjoy!
Now, let me share a personal experience. I remember the first time I tried making this recipe – in the chill of a mid-December morning. I was sceptical about the combination of jaggery and tea at first, but one sip was enough to dispel my doubts. The warm sweetness of the jaggery mingled perfectly with the spiciness of ginger and the richness of tea. It’s been a staple in my winter routine ever since, and I’m sure after trying this recipe, it will be a part of yours as well.”
